Physical therapy is offered at all Physical Therapy and Rehab locations. It is an effective treatment for orthopedic and neurological conditions, a variety of men's and women's health concerns, balance issues, worker's compensation care and more.

Orthopedic

Community Physical Therapy and Rehab offers a variety of orthopedic physical therapy options to treat foot, hip, knee, neck, back and shoulder pain.

Neurological

Physical therapy can help individuals who have issues with balance, falling, difficulty walking, decreased strength and difficulty with mobility. We can treat people who are recently diagnosed or those who have had a condition for many years, including:

  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Stroke
  • Neuropathy in feet
  • Drop foot
  • Difficulty walking
  • Instability
  • Balance problems

Men's and Women's Health

Physical therapists can treat a variety of health conditions that commonly affect men or women.

Pelvic Pain

  • Vulvar pain syndrome

  • Painful intercourse

  • Rectal pain

Incontinence

To treat incontinence, the therapist might use any one or a combination of the following:

  • Therapeutic exercise for pelvic floor muscles
  • Computerized biofeedback techniques
  • Electrical stimulation for pelvic floor strengthening, urge reduction and pain management
  • Behavior modification
  • Diet and nutrition tips to reduce bladder/bowel irritation
  • Techniques and instruction on how to reduce urgency and frequent need to urinate

Lymphedema

Do you have a persistent swelling in your arms, legs, hands or feet? You may have lymphedema, an easily treatable condition that our therapist will assist in teaching you techniques to manage your symptoms. Signs and symptoms of lymphedema, which can occur months or years after an injury to a limb, include:

  • A “full” sensation of affected limb
  • Skin feels tight
  • Decreased flexibility
  • Pitting of skin (stays indented when you press on it)
  • Tight clothing, rings, bracelets, etc.

Community can help! We can create a specialized program for you, made up of exercise, massage and bandaging. We also can determine if you need a compression sleeve or stocking to keep swelling from recurring.

Vestibular Rehab

A physical therapist can help determine the source of dizziness, unsteadiness, balance issues or vertigo. Other common symptoms include:

  • Spinning
  • Foggy/fuzzy
  • Lightheadedness
  • Fainting sensation
  • Neck pain
  • Falls
  • Staggering
  • Motion sensitivity

Vestibular rehabilitation may include the following recommendations and physical therapy techniques:

  • Habituation/oculomotor exercises
  • Canal repositioning treatment
  • Balance retraining
  • ADL training
  • Gait activities
  • Education

Workers' Compensation

We can treat individuals who are injured on the job. If your physician determines physical therapy is appropriate, call us at 317-355-7868 to schedule an appointment. You will need a physical therapy prescription and the name and phone number of your workers' comp insurance adjustor.

We provide direct communication with your employer, nurse case manager and insurance adjustor. We are also able to offer continuous care from the onset of your injury through your return to work, including any work conditioning or functional capacity evaluation that your physician might request.
