Community Health Network and the Fishers Fire Department partner on campaign to lower incidents of senior citizen falls
In a recent analysis of data for all emergency medical incidents handled by the Fishers Fire Department, injuries as a result of falls was second only to injuries from motor vehicle accidents. Armed with these statistics, the Fishers Fire Department and Community Health Network launched a campaign to reduce falls in the Fishers area by 35% over the next two years.
As a part of the campaign, the Community Hospital North emergency department, Community Home Health, Community’s Touchpoint Senior Services program, and the Fishers Fire Department, implemented a fall prevention program for senior citizens. The program includes several components, such as fall risk assessment, education, exercise, medication review, vision check and home safety assessment. Learn more >>
