Community Health Network establishes temporary visitor restrictions at Indianapolis hospitals

Indianapolis, IN---Due to increased flu activity in Marion County, Community Health Network will implement temporary visitor restrictions at its Indianapolis hospitals. The temporary visitor policy goes into effect on Wednesday, January 22.

Community is working closely with the Marion County Health Department and the Indianapolis Coalition for Patient Safety. Community, along with other Indianapolis hospitals, has agreed to implement Tier One of the Patient Visitation Policy, which is the least restrictive.

The following restrictions will be implemented:

• No visitors with flu-like illness, fever or cough
• No visitors under age 18
• Only immediate family, partner or significant other will be allowed visitation

Implementing the temporary visitor restrictions will help the hospitals maintain a healthy environment. The policy will be in effect for Community Hospitals North, East, South, Westview and Community Heart and Vascular Hospital. All visitors to the hospitals are encouraged to be vigilant about hand washing and covering coughs.
