Meet the Healthplex aquatics director and swim instructors. Learn more about aquatics programs and swim lessons for adults and kids.

My passion for the last 30 years has been to teach and help people heal in the water. I have several certifications, which include lifeguarding, CPR, Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer, Aquatic Exercise Association Fitness Instructor, National Trainer for the Arthritis Foundation, and, I am certified by the Aquatic Therapy and Rehab Institute. As an instructor, I am certified to teach Yoqua, Ai Chi, Hydro-pilates, MS Aquatics and my biggest love, the Arthritis Foundation Aquatic classes. I am currently working toward a master’s degree in recreation therapy at Indiana University and look forward to bringing aquatic therapy to our wonderful club.

Eileen DavisEileen is a former Cincinnati Marlin (AAU) competitive swimmer who started teaching at 15 years old. Lifeguarding and Water Safety Instructor certification followed during her college years. Eileen also swam two years for Miami University women’s swim team (prior to Title IX). Although she continued to swim recreationally, it took a return to masters swimming to bring her back to teaching lessons. Masters swimming also started a new coaching phase. Training by the Total Immersion swimming technique in 2001 encouraged her to take the TI coaching clinic that same year. She continues to teach and coach the TI method. She had been coaching with the Healthplex Masters since 2000 and received ASCA Level I and II coaching certification in 2011.

Alissa RobbinsSwimming has been a part of Alissa’s life from the beginning. Her first swimming lessons were at the age of six months and she has loved being in the water ever since. As Alissa has grown older, she has enjoyed being able to share her interest with others. Alissa’s high school summers were filled with teaching lessons and coaching age group swimming for her community swim team, as well as participating on the team. Upon entering college, Alissa continued to teach during the school year and the summer. As a swim instructor, she has had students of all ages–from six month olds becoming accustomed to the water to adults wanting to discover a new way to enhance their workouts. She enjoys teaching all age levels, because each presents her with a different challenge. In total, Alissa has been helping others learn to swim for over ten years and loved every minute.
