Hobbies/Interests: I am very happy to be a part of the Community East family. Indianapolis is a new adventure for me and I’m excited to spend the next three years of my life here and explore the city and the surrounding areas. I love spending time with my family, my fiancé and my dog Rocsi. In my free time I enjoy a good documentary or TV show, running, and traveling. I chose family medicine because it’s the specialty that would allow me to develop the skillset needed for women’s healthcare, mental health and preventive medicine.

Hobbies/Interests: I am excited to be part of the Community East Family Medicine program! My medical interests include addiction medicine, pain management, global health and working with the medically underserved. Outside of medicine, I enjoy traveling, gardening, exploring different coffee shops and watching Netflix documentaries.

Hobbies/Interests: I am very excited to be joining the Community Hospital East Residency and caring for the people of Indianapolis. My interests within Family Medicine include caring for underserved patient populations, working in a rural setting, procedures and wound care. In my free time I enjoy reading, watching movies, and being outside whether that be running, walking or going for a hike.

Hobbies/Interests: I am from a small town in Southern Indiana, and I am elated to join the Community East Family Medicine Residency up north. I enjoy spending time with my dog and significant other, Caitlynn. If we all are not hiking in the area, playing basketball, biking or cooking, you can find us at either the local winery or brewery. Additionally, I look forward to pursuing my passion of sports medicine and preventive medicine for people, so they can live their happiest and healthiest life doing what they love most.

Hobbies/Interests: I am very excited to join the Community East Family Medicine Program and make Indy my new home! Fun fact about me: I am fluent in Spanish and Italian. My hobbies include playing video games, watching professional sports like the NBA, NFL (Go Pack Go!), MLB and Serie A, yoga and exercising, and now exploring Indianapolis with my husband Andrea, my dog Momo and cat Balù. As the Puerto Rico Women's National Water Polo Team's former goalkeeper, I am naturally interested in sports medicine. My other medical interests include primary care and procedures.

Hobbies/Interests: I’m a lifelong Hoosier, born and raised. I went to college and medical school here, too, so I’m happy to be sticking around some more for residency! In my free time, I enjoy hiking, cooking, canning, sewing, board games, and just about anything that involves furry creatures. I’m also very active in my local church and deeply value the connections I’ve made there! My interests in family medicine include women's and children’s health, rural medicine, EMR efficiency, and medical administration.

Hobbies/Interests: Having done a majority of my clinical rotations during medical school in the Midwest (Chicago and Toledo), I am excited to continue my training here at the crossroads of America (Indy) with Community East. I am a die-hard soccer fan and will spend most of my free time either playing or watching my favorite team, Manchester United, play. I love spending quality time with my wife, two daughters and other family members. I also enjoy taking road trips, listening to all genres of music and learning about other cultures. My medical interests include preventive medicine, geriatrics and working with the underserved.

Hobbies/Interests: I am excited to start this journey of residency at Community East! I enjoy spending time with my wife (who will also be a family medicine resident at Community), friends, family and our cat, Chip. Other hobbies include playing and watching sports, in particular soccer and basketball (go Manchester United and Pacers!), binge watching tv shows, playing board games, working out, trying new foods from around the world, as well as volunteering with the Special Olympics. My interests within family medicine include preventive medicine, addictions medicine and caring for the underserved.

Kristen Swanson, FME residency class of 2024Kristen Swanson, MD

Hometown: Indianapolis, Indiana
Hobbies/Interests: I enjoy spending time with my family, including my husband and fellow resident, Petr, and our wonderful cat, Chip. I like to take walks on the Canal with my husband, play various sports, including basketball, tennis, and soccer, and play games with friends (we are currently playing a lot of Villainous). I’m also a major Disney fan and love to read. You can often find us hanging out at home watching the Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis Colts and IU Hoosiers! I am really excited to stay in Indianapolis and continue my training at Community East. My grandma was actually a nurse at Community the year the hospital opened, and my dad worked here for a summer job growing up. I'm happy to continue the legacy! My interests in medicine include reproductive health, healthcare equity and working with underserved patients.

Hobbies/Interests: I am excited for a new adventure in Indianapolis! My hobbies include powerlifting, swimming, going on adventures and trying new things. I am particularly interested in sports medicine, global health and working with the underserved. I am working on learning new languages to help make healthcare more accessible.
